Looking after small breeds and puppies

At Coco Cares, we understand how important your dog is to you. We also understand how different dogs have different needs, which is why we decided to set up a daycare for dogs caring specifically for small breeds.

We really wanted to offer a home from home for your dog to play and stay, giving you the peace of mind that your little dog is chilling alongside other small dogs in the comfort of our home.

There are no kennels or cages, just options of lounging on the sofa, choosing a favourite cushion or snuggling under a blanket in one of the dog beds we provide.

Day care is not just for working mums and dads; you may want a day shopping, lunch with friends, golf, or even give your little dog a break from the builders being at your home.

Services

Pooches

We have a mix of spaces available: those for our dogs in full time weekly daycare, and then for our ‘guest dogs’ that join us maybe once or twice a week, or just on an occasional basis as needed. All of our dogs are small breeds and those welcome here are Chihuahua, Poms, Maltese, Mini Dachshunds etc. On weekdays your dog will be collected in the morning and walked through the park, then we head home where they get to play. At home time, we head over to the park and have a lovely walk before dropping your dogs home so they arrive relaxed and ready to settle. At weekends and bank holidays you can drop off your dog and we’ll look after them until you collect them late afternoon.

Puppies

We are happy to take puppies. Your puppy will be able to play, stay and learn from the other dogs in our care. They will be walked little and often for toilet training. We will have a playpen for puppies when they need their own space and to encourage them to not become over excited and enjoy quiet time. The playpen is not isolated from the rest of the action in our home so they will never feel alone.

Sleepover

We are happy to look after your dog overnight. We can offer this for the occasional night, weekend only, weekly or long term stay depending on your needs and our availability. We will keep to your dog’s diet and feeding times and you are welcome to bring your own dog’s bed if you feel they will be happier with this, or they will be able to curl up in one of ours.

Convenience

On weekdays you can choose to either have your dog collected & dropped back home or if you prefer you are welcome to drop your dog off with us & collect at the end of the session. Dogs are collected from 8 am. We drop home between 4-5 pm. Instead you are welcome to drop your little dog here from 7.30 am and pick up anytime throughout the day up to 6.30 pm, or later by arrangement.

At weekends and bank holidays you are welcome to drop off from 9 am and collect anytime up to 5 pm.

First aid/Medication/Insurance

I am a fully trained canine first aider. If your dog needs medication we are happy to administer this at the times requested.

I am fully insured and have an enhanced DBS report for your peace of mind. When meeting I will bring my passport and all relevant paper work for you to see.

Behaviour

We are not looking for the perfect dog; all dogs take time to adjust to their new routines when meeting new dogs. However if we have a situation where we find that your dog feels unhappy and cannot settle we will talk to you about this.

We will not take aggressive dogs into our care.
